Thecus N1200 Troubleshooting

Device will not turn on
If your N1200 doesn't turn on but beeps when the power button is pressed, it could be power related. Check the seating of the hard drive, the compatibility of the hard drive and also check the power connector going into the N1200.
Device will not boot
If you find that your N1200 no longer boots (let's say, you broke some system files and crashed it while developing a module for it), there are a few things to try.
First, check web access. If that doesn't work, try shell access (if you installed it). From there you might be able to fix the problem.
Failing that, try the reset button on the back. With the N1200 off, push this button. With it held, turn the N1200 on - it will beep. Wait for another beep before releasing.
If it's really broken, that might not work either. But there's one more chance.
Remove the hard disk. If the N1200 boots again, requesting that you run the setup wizard when you try to access web admin, then all you need to do to fix the problem is format the hard drive, put it back into the N1200 and reinstall everything.
If you do have to format the drive, you might want to copy your files off prior to doing so, which should be easy enough - you'll need to attach the drive to a machine to format it anyway, so you can do it then.
