Why no adapter bracket?
There is a note in the box that cautions me: "Do not attach an N2050 to a motherboard through a SATA to eSATA adapter bracket" What's the reason for this advice?
I am using a Raidsonic Icybox with eSATA port on such an adapter bracket without problems. --Sn 12:53, 4 April 2008 (CEST)
More than 500 GB possible?
Can I use disks larger than 500 GB?
Yes, got my N2050 up and running two WD1000FYPS disks, RAID 1, partitioned into ext3 & NTFS, --RedOctober 17:37, 25 April 2008 (CEST)
Also, they are now being sold with 2x 750 GB drives. The compatability list still lists no drives larger than 500GB, so if you test any larger drives, please mention it here. Thanks. --Sn 15:59, 14 May 2008 (CEST)
Got my N2050 (Ver. 2.0) running with two Samsung HD103UJ (1000GB/7200rpm/32M) in RAID1 with NTFS filesystem. Runs really fast!
I got mine working with a total of 3TB (2x 1.5GB Seagate Barracuda's P/N: 9JU138-301). The only issue I had was that Windows XP didn't see the full 3TB. This much storage only seems to work with "Modern" operating systems like Vista and Windows 7, both of which worked ok and detected the full 3TB.
